Are you a beneficiary of Nunatsiavut or member of NunatuKavut? Are you interested in science? Are you looking for a part time job in the winter semester?
For the winter semester, Dr. Max Liboiron (Michif) is looking for research assistants to work on plastic pollution samples from Nunatsiavut and NunatuKavut. You don’t need training in plastics— all training will be provided. A familiarly with science (Indigenous or western) is desirable.
There are one to three positions depending on successful applicants’ needs or situations. We can accommodate graduate or undergraduate students and even recent grads. The position is on the St. John’s campus of Memorial University. Hours are flexible but will be between 40-80 hours for the semester (3-6 hours a week). Tasks will include processing guts from fish and birds caught by hunters to look for plastics, doing data entry, writing and doing literature reviews, attending lab meetings, and working as part of a team.
